Professor Tsatsakis is Director at the Toxicology Science and Research Centre in the Department of Forensic Sciences of the Medical School in the University of Crete and The University Hospital. He is teaching the toxicology course for medical students for the last 20 years and advanced toxicology issues for universities' postgraduate programs. Prof. Tsatsakis is currently the President of EUROTOX, President of the Hellenic Society of Toxicology, chairman of the ERT HST national Registry and member of several Scientific Academies and Societies.

Professor Aristidis Michael Tsatsakis is the Director of the Department of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences of the Medical School at the University of Crete and the University Hospital of Heraklion. AMT is teaching the toxicology course for medical students for the past 25 years and specialization toxicology topics for postgraduate programs at universities. He has supervised over 30 PhDs and continues to until today. AMT has written over 300 peer reviewed articles in prestigious journals, is a holder of several patents and has given numerous lecturers as keynote and plenary speaker in international congresses.

Professor Tsatsakis has coordinated as PI over 40 scientific research and technology projects national and international and established worldwide collaborations. AMT is Editor of Food Chemical Toxicology (FCT), Guest Editor of four special issues in Tox Lett, Toxicology and FCT journals, Associate Editor for few other journals and member of the Editorial Boards and served as EiC of the TOFSJ. The main research interests of AMT are biomonitoring of various xenobiotics in a variety of biological samples and linking of chemical chronic exposure at low doses with health problems and diseases and risk assessments studies.

Prof. Tsatsakis is currently the President of the Federation of European Toxicologists and European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX), President of the Hellenic Society of Toxicology, Chairman of the Hellenic ERT - HST national Registry and member of several Scientific Academies and Societies. AMT has cooperated with key national and international organizations such as WHO-IPCS and National Drug Authority. He has received the IRPC 2001 Gold Medal and Eminent Scientist Award. He is an Emeritus Professor for the Erisman Federal Institute of Hygiene in Moscow, Russia. AMT has organized as president several international Congresses in the field of toxicology and forensic science among them the EUROTOX-2008 in Rhodes Greece.

He is the founder and co-chairman of BIONANOTOX Congresses 2010-2016. He also the founder and chairman scientific leader of the spin-off Company Toxplus S.A.
