On the 2nd of March, Professor Tsatsakis Aristeidis, Professor Shtilman and Professor Varfolomeev Sergey, corresponding member of RAS and director of N. Emanuel Institute of Biochemical Physics of RAS, Moscow, Russia overviewed the scientific program for the Bionanotox congress planned to be held in May 2015 in Crete and decided for the scientific program as well as the main keynote and plenary speakers. The Symposium is a continuation of a long term co-operation between Russian and Hellenic scientists that has been ongoing for the last 20 years, in the frame of the bilateral scientific state programs and also among other European and World Bionanotox scientists.

Professor Rakitski Valery of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of the Federal Centre of Hygiene and Toxicology signed a protocol of research and education and a project for collaboration with Professor Tsatsakis Aristeidis who is director of The Laboratory of Toxicology and Forensic Science in the medical department at the University of Crete and president of the TOXPLUS SA.  Specific areas of collaboration include developing protocols for testing and registration of chemicals according to OECD guidelines and also investigating actual problems of professional occupational diseases. Both Professor Rakitski Valery and Tsatsakis Aristeidis pointed out the importance of knowledge transfer by disseminating research results in peer reviewed publications in international journals. Furthermore Russian scientists will attend this Bionanotox congress (www.bionanotox.org) and in the same way Greek scientists will visit the Federal Centre of Hygiene and Toxicology for common projects.

On March the 3rd 2015, Professor Tsatsakis, current president of EUROTOX (Federation of European Toxicologists & European Societies of Toxicology), presented to the Russian Society of Toxicology how the registration to be part of EUROTOX (ERT) is acquired as well as how to become a registered European Toxicologist (ERT) and invited the Russian Society of Toxicology to commence work for the organization of the national ERT registry of Russia.  Appropriate support will be given to the Russian Society of Toxicology from EUROTOX to fulfill this task.
